Spam Brand and BBDO Guerrero have launched an online shop, spamgiftandgive.com, where the proceeds from Spam shirts, caps, hoodies, and collectibles will go towards donating 12,000 meals to partner hospitals. For every P35 spent at the site, Hormel Foods will donate one meal to a front line worker.

Every week, the Spam food truck delivers meals to a different hospital: the National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Santa Ana Hospital, Philippine General Hospital, UERM Memorial Medical Center, and East Avenue Medical Center.

“Christmas is the season of giving,” said Jaynee Dykes, Senior Brand Manager for Hormel Foods International Corporation.

“And with this project, Spam Brand Gift and Give, the makers of the Spam Brand are offering people the chance to give gifts to their loved ones while delivering fresh, hot meals to 2020’s greatest heroes, healthcare workers. And we hope this inspires to spread cheer but also to help people stay safe during the holidays.”

From these hospitals, the brand also selects a hero of the week. Spam Brand will share with its social media followers what keeps that healthcare worker inspired and motivated. Their first hero of the week was Alex Nacion of East Avenue Medical Center.

“The simple act of giving honor to health workers and other frontliners, it’s a big deal to us…to know that we are appreciated. Thank you, Spam (Brand). It’s from these little things that we get inspiration to continue the fight,” said Nacion.
