BBDO Guerrero and PH Tourism Department celebrate a decade of prosperous tourism

BBDO Guerrero with the Philippine Department of Tourism have launched the Tourism Decade campaign commemorating the 10th anniversary of R.A 9593, also known as the Tourism Act of 2009.

The Tourism Decade is a fully intergrated campaign which tells the real-life stories of Filipinos in the tourism industry. From a 100 year-old tattoo artist who became globally famous, to a home cook who opened her own restaurant, and even a dog who works as a tour-guide.

The film was directed by co-directors Mike and Nick of Arcade Productions and was shot in different parts of the country. The campaign is set to run across social media, activation, public relations, and other media.

The Tourism Act of 2009 recognized tourism as an indispensable part of the national economy and an industry of national interest and importance. As of 2017, the tourism sector contributed 12.2% of the country’s GDP equivalent to PhP 1.929 trillion – a leap from just 5.8% in 2009.

BBDO Guerrero Creative Chairman David Guerrero shares: “This campaign seeks to show how tourism has improved millions of lives in the country. In the Tourism Decade we tell the stories of some remarkable individuals who truly make it more fun for our visitors.”
